It has been more than half a century since the first TOMOE developed Butterfly Valve was strategized and built in Japan, TOMOE continues to gain position throughout the world to tap the growing market. 
 
Since its formation over 65 years ago, TOMOE has become a global leader in the production of high quality and technically advanced butterfly valves, actuators and control systems. TOMOE's dedication to developing products that continue to satisfy the sophisticated demands of process control today has earned TOMOE a reputation for supplying one of the finest and most comprehensive ranges of butterfly valves and actuators in the world. 
 
The business started from sales of rubber seated butterfly valves and has progressively expanded and improved in a range of products to innovative rotary control valves that come with superior controllability and high performance valves which cover a wide range of pressures and temperatures. 
 
With a solid foundation in technology and years of experience, a vision was set for TOMOE to be committed and to continue to deliver reliable and trustworthy products that meet all customer expectations. As a result of the globalization in every industrial sector, demands have become very specific, complicated and localized.
 
TOMOE products can be found operating in a wide range of industries worldwide including oil & gas, petrochemical, marine, water treatment, vehicle manufacture, power generation and much more, all while forming a trusted and reliable part of the process in each and every application. 
 
The USA headquarters of TOMOE was established in Kingwood, TX (greater Houston area) in 2006 to develop business throughout North America & parts of South America. TOMOE USA holds over $2 million worth of triple-offset, double-offset and rubber-lined stock. Current sizes range from 2” through 24” in classes 150# and 300# that are mostly carbon steel, stainless steel and ductile iron, but we also have some exotic materials on the shelf. The short term goal is to hold cost-competitive stock in triple offsets for larger sizes up to 48” and 600#. 
 
The success of TOMOE’s strategy for product development and global expansion has led to the following corporate developments over the years:
 

1951 – Tomoe Valve Company was founded in Osaka, Japan
1986 – Developed a European sales presence in Newport, Wales; UK
1997 – New manufacturing plant in Newport for triple offset butterfly 
2001 – New manufacturing plant in Shanghai for a range of butterfly valves 
2004 – New manufacturing plant in Batam for commodity triple offsets
2005 – Upgrading of facilities in Newport
2006 – New factory opened in Osaka
2006 – Project sales operation opened in Kingwood, Texas
2012 – New sales & stocking facility opened in Houston, Texas
